I will be involved in my fifth American Cancer Relay for Life Event. This year I will walk/run two marathons, a total of 52.4 miles during the 18 hour event. This will be to honor my parents who both lost their lives to cancer and to honor the mom and dad of my best friend who lost both her parents over the past eight months. Her Mom was diagnosed and passed away in five days and her Dad lingered on for 6 months. If you are reading this page you probably can relate and understand our "mission"!!!!! I have no specific goal but I am looking for sponsors to donate for each mile I walk/run. I am new to requesting donations via this format. I have been involved in raising funds through letters and personal requests to friends and family and fellow workers. I have been involved in a golf tournament fundraiser and when I was involved with the leukemia society we did a bachelor/bachelorette event. I have exhausted many avenues and hope this will result in support. My friend Deena and I are approaching local businesses to donate and we will have several small fundraisers. My team is the Delray Beach Police Department which has been a strong supporter of this event for the past 5 years and we hope this will far exceed our past efforts.
